Clementina Abeke Doregos Foundation (CADFOD)

Mrs. C.A. Doregos, the founder of CADFOD, is passionate about the well-being and education of less privileged children in the society, particularly motherless children, orphans, and children of handicapped parent(s).

She has been involved in giving scholarships to these children to attend schools or obtain vocational training for over a decade. She desires that the assistance given to such children should outlive her, hence the establishment of Clementina Abeke Doregos Foundation.

Origins

The Clementina Abeke Doregos Foundation, which had been in existence informally for over a decade, was registered under Part C of Companies and Allied Matters Act at the Corporate Affairs Commission Abuja on the 16th of February 2007. There are presently eight members of the Foundation, of which three are the Pioneer Trustees.

Objective

The objective of the Foundation is to provide funds for less privileged children who may be orphans, children of widows, motherless children, abandoned children or children of handicapped parents for schooling or vocational training.

Achievements

To date over fifteen Children have benefited from the Foundation; two of whom are university graduates. One studied Mechanical Engineering while the other obtained a degree in Accountancy. Some of the beneficiaries are undergraduates at various universities in Nigeria, such as University of Ibadan, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye and Tai-Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode. Several of them have had vocational training. Today, they are caterers, fashion designers, artists and so forth, gainfully employed or set up in business by the Foundation.
